#18 on Compassion
In this episode on Compassion, Kate and Ruby talk about how their experience with and understanding of compassion has evolved over the years. Jack Kornfield, an American writer and mindfulness teacher says, "If your compassion does not include yourself, it is incomplete."
In this episode Ruby hits us with this: "there's a BIG difference between compassion and fixing." And Kate says, "am i actually being helpful or am I just trying to make myself feel less uncomfortable about what I'm seeing in front of me?"
Compassion can be defined as where empathy meets the willingness to radically be with the suffering.
Nurture is defined as the process of caring for and encouraging the growth or development of someone or something.
“And, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.” — Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist
